Three Time Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall Winner Anthony Sesely Enters First Trenton Indoor Dirt Race; Bob Hilbert Co. Posts $500 Hard Charger Bonus

TRENTON, NJ – Anthony Sesely, a four-time winner on the concrete floor inside Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall, is going indoor dirt racing. The Matawan, N.J. driver is one of over 90 drivers entered for the first East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals coming up at the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton, N.J. on Friday and Saturday, December 1-2, 2017.
Though pavement has been Sesely’s specialty throughout his driving career – earning two Wall Stadium Modified titles and one Mahoning Valley crown – he has some dirt track experience in a Sprint Car.

For the Trenton race, he has a new Hyper built dirt car outfitted with a Dave Orange 600cc motor. The team recently tested outdoors for the event. After some new car bugs were worked out, Sesely impressively was putting down some fast laps at Delaware’s Airport Speedway.

Five other Indoor TQ Midget drivers are crossing over with the 34-year-old Sesely to run the Dirt Nationals. The list includes noted dirt Modified driver Mike Iles, outdoor TQ Midget champion Matt Jansich and 2016 Wall TQ Turkey Derby winner Matt Roselli.

Bob Hilbert Sportswear, supplier of official event apparel to the Indoor Auto Racing Series since its inception, has thrown its support behind a ‘Hard Charger’ award.
Bob Hilbert Company, based in Boyertown, Pa., ranks among the industry leaders in the designing and printing of event and driver apparel. The firm is backing a $500 award to be presented to the driver who either advances the most positions in the Saturday night A-Main or works the hardest in the qualifying events.

The two-day event will start on Friday at 7 p.m. with 10 heat races. Drivers will pick for qualifying positions. Those with a bad draw will be rewarded with passing points. The top 60 performers will then be divided into four A-qualifier feature races.
On Saturday, points from Friday’s events will line-up all drivers into “alphabet mains” which will begin at 5 p.m.. While high point drivers will lock into Saturday’s A-Main, expected to start after 8 p.m., the other racers will have the opportunity to advance from twin F, E, D, C and B-mains to make the 40 lap “A” feature.

Drivers from eight different states and many racing divisions have entered the event including noted Pa. Sprint Car drivers Brian Montieth, Steve Buckwalter and Ryan Smith. Native Californian Danny Stratton, an expert in wingless competition, has entered along with New Egypt Speedway dirt Modified champion Billy Pauch Jr.

Kutztown SpeedSTR reigning champion Tim Buckwalter and top ARDC Midget car drivers Alex Bright and Trevor Kobylarz will also be top contenders.

The field also includes the best drivers and teams from Micro Sprint racing.

In fact, one Micro Sprint car owner is so sure one of the division regulars will win the event, he’s willing to put his money on it. Should any non-regular of 600cc Micro Sprint racing win Saturday’s feature event the car owner will add a $500 bonus to the win total.

Tickets for both days of the event are available at the Box Office. Advance tickets are available by calling 800-298-4200 or indoorautoracing.com.

Though this is a new attraction, the CURE Insurance Arena (formerly Sun National Bank Center), has hosted TQ Midget racing for the past four years on the arena’s concrete floor. Sesely has raced in them all and will again compete full-time on the 2018 Indoor Auto Racing Series Fueled by VP Racing circuit. These events will be held on the concrete floors of the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa., Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J. and the Times Union Center in Albany, NY.

The winner of three Atlantic City Gambler’s Classics (2013, 2014, 2016), Sesely is coming back to the series this year with the 600cc powered Hyper chassis race car that won all three of the Classics. Last year, he had ran a more conventional 750cc TQ Midget on the series until switching back to his proven 600cc race car for the Atlantic City finale.

This series opens for the TQ Midgets at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA., for the Ironton Telephone sponsored events on Friday and Saturday, January 5 and 6. Each night offers a complete show for the headline TQ Midgets.

For choice Allentown tickets, contact the PPL Center Box Office by phone at 610-347-TIXX (8499), or online at pplcenter.com. The 2016 event was a sell-out.

The Ironton Telephone Allentown event schedule calls for racing to start at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with the Champ Karts as part of the program and 7 p.m. on Saturday with the Slingshots joining the TQ Midgets.

The series moves next to the NAPA Auto Parts Indoor Auto Racing Weekend in Atlantic City. For tickets, contact Ticketmaster, the Boardwalk Hall Box Office, or the Area Auto Racing News office at 609-888-3618.

The finale will be a first annual event in New York State, on February 9-10, 2018 in the Times Union Center in downtown Albany, N.Y. For choice tickets, contact the Times Union Center Box Office, charge-by-phone at (800) 745-3000, or visit online at ticketmaster.com.
