Flores, Rudolph, Blewett and Zeiner Battle for Indoor Auto Racing Championship Fueled by VP Racing Fuels

Ryan Flores, Erick Rudolph, Jimmy Blewett, Zane Zeiner and Tim Buckwalter hold the top five positions in the Indoor Auto Racing Series Fueled By VP Racing Fuels points heading into the NAPA Know How Racing Weekend Gambler’s Classic inside Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

With Friday night Boardwalk Hall Time Trial and A-Main Qualifier points included, Flores has 339 points. Rudolph is next at 260, Blewett has 258, Zeiner 252, and Buckwalter at 246.

Flores’ big lead has made him a prohibitive favorite in tonight’s Gambler’s Classic. But prohibitive favorites, particularly in Atlantic City, have a way of becoming upset victims.

One year ago, in the Indoor Auto Racing Series finale at Trenton, N.J., Erick Rudolph won the finale and ended up tied in points with the ultra-consistent Flores. Rudolph won the championship on the feature win tie-breaker.

Flores and Rudolph won Indoor Auto Racing Series events earlier this year, Flores in Allentown, Pa., twice and Rudolph in the Series opener in Trenton, N.J.

So tonight’s the night, the night the 2016-2017 Indoor Auto Racing Series points championship will be settled. Flores? Rudolph? Blewett? Zeiner? Buckwalter? They are the only five with a mathematical shot at taking the championship tonight!
